• The south elevation with Kitchen patio (distorted by splicing), provides pasive insolation

  • The Entry, looking toward the Living Room and south facing seat window

  • The north entry side of the home, with colonnaded Entry Porch, stepped-back upper floor

Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Thielst

A three bedroom, two story home oriented to the sun and the northeastern mountain views on Modoc Road, Santa Barbara. A budget house on a limited site, with just enough solar access to allow passive solar heat in winter and summer cooling by collecting ocean breezes in summer. Construction was reasonably executed by Jeff Van Housen, Contractor.
